AC5 bitumen

The bitumen of viscosity shows the efficiency and viscosity of bitumen and bitumen mixing with the materials at the asphalt factory at different temperatures rather than the temperature conditions of the bitumen.

What is AC5 asphalt?

AC5, approximately 500P viscosity material, is a high penetration range asphalt, typically also meeting requirements of a 150-200 dmm pen. This asphalt product is used as an emulsion base and in blending of other PG asphalts.

What does AC stand for in bitumen?

Asphalt cement, or AC grade bitumen, is one of the most common types of viscosity grade bitumen. Viscosity grade bitumen is divided into two groups by the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHTO): Asphalt Cement (AC) Grade Bitumen. Aged Residue (AR) Grade Bitumen.

Asphalt concrete

Asphalt concrete (AC) is a standard Type B asphalt concrete mixed, spread and compacted as noted in the Caltrans standards. Base material (4 -8 inches) and AC depth (2 – 6 inches) will vary depending on site specific requirements.

What is AC5 grade?

AC5. Suitable for heavy traffic in commercial spaces. Large department stores, public building and large offices are the perfect place for laminate with a rating of AC5. You may also find AC rating described using pictograms.

What is the highest grade of asphalt?

I-5
There are three different grades available in asphalt. The grades available are I-2, also known as base; I-5, known as top; and the I-4 or commercial top grades. The difference in the tree grades are that the I-2 or base consists of ¾ inches of stone.

What is the difference between AC and bitumen?

The term bitumen is often mistakenly used to describe asphalt. A bitumen-sealed road has a layer of bitumen sprayed and then covered with an aggregate. This is then repeated to give a two-coat seal. Asphalt is produced in a plant that heats, dries and mixes aggregate, bitumen and sand into a composite mix.

Applications

This kind of bitumen is suitable to be used for road construction projects in cold regions. Also, Bitumen AC 5 Grade is used to manufacture asphalt mixes, some grade of bitumen emulsion, cut-back bitumen, and modified bitumen.
